9月21日，Proof of Play公司宣布完成了3300万美元的融资，这笔资金将用于开发Web3游戏Pirate Nation。

本轮融资由Andreessen Horowitz（a16z）的Chris Dixon和Greenoaks的Neil Mehta共同领投，Naval Ravikant，Balaji Srinivasan，流媒体平台Twitch的创始人，Web3公司Anchorage Digital，Mercury，Firebase，Zynga和Alchemy跟投。

2022年12月，Proof of Play对其首款游戏Pirate Nation进行了封闭测试。

Proof of Play在公告中表示，该公司正在努力解决Web3游戏普遍存在的问题。Proof of Play拥有一套技术和产品创新，使玩家无需了解区块链就能玩Web3游戏。

Proof of Play的团队成员来自多个知名公司，包括Epic Games，Zynga，EA，Activision和Google。

Proof of Play强调，公司致力于去中心化。Pirate Nation是一款运行在区块链上的游戏，理论上讲，它可以永久运行。
