Our Happy Company – the company co-founded by John Legend – has managed to secure $7.5 million in funding in order to get musicians monetising themselves on the metaverse.
The funding round itself was led by the duo of Infinity Ventures and Animoca Brands, along with follow-on support by Circle Ventures, Cherubic Ventures, FBG Capital and more.
With this new capital, Happy Company plans to further develop the functionality and features on its NFT music platform ‘OurSong’ – which is already available on iOS and Android. For those more well-versed in blockchains, OurSong currently supports digital tokens like Ethereum, BNB Chain and Thundercore; offering some agnosticism to monetisation.
Along with providing musicians with a new and emerging avenue for monetisation, Our Happy Company is also looking to streamline the whole process of minting NFTs. Traditionally, minting an NFT is not the easiest thing to accomplish for even the most experienced individual. But OurSong aims to make it more user friendly, while holding custody to ensure ease of cost without relying on external crypto wallets.
