The Simpsons
This is not the first time The Simpsons talks about bitcoin. As far back as 1997, the animated sitcom depicted a store called Crypto Barn, A Place for Codes.
In 2013, Krusty answered Lisa’s inquiry on why he’s broke by saying “all it takes is bad luck at the ponies, worse luck in the bitcoin markets…”. In 2014, the sitcom’s bully, Jimbo Jones is advertising his bullying services and saying that he accepts bitcoin as payments.
Other shows such as the Family Guy, Supernatural, The Good Wife, House of Cards, Almost Human, Designated Survivor, and Person of Interest also mention bitcoin in one or more of their episodes.
Marvel
Marvel Comics released Hunt for Wolverine – Adamantium Agenda issue and it mentioned cryptocurrency.
In Hunt for Wolverine – Adamantium Agenda, Logan, who, after saving New York City, from being hit by a bomb, is nowhere to be found. Iron Man, Spider Man, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage join in for the adventure.
In this issue, without giving out too much, Tony Stark is having some dealings with the “typical” type of characters. In this case, he won’t use unmarked cash but will use cryptocurrency to seal the deal.
