港游戏公司Animoca Brands澳洲借壳上市

        香港游戏开发商Animoca Brands宣布,近日在澳洲证券交易所(Australian Securities Exchange,简称ASX)上市。

        Animoca Brands本来可以在数星期前上市,但文件处理日子超出预期,此次交易证明手机业务发展渐受企业欢迎,但又显示手机游戏开发商募集资金不太容易,VentureBeat指,Animoca Brands上市时,经历了不常见的交易(an unusual transaction),而不是像一般公司般从私人风险投资者中筹钱。

        今次交易属借壳上市(reverse takeover),Animoca Brands先接管一间本身在ASX上市的Black Fire Minerals,并更改股票交易代码更名为AB1,股票代码为BFE的Black Fire Minerals,再接管Animoca Brands公司的资产,并更改了自己的公司名称与股票代码。现时该公司今次上市交易筹资到240万美元。

 

去年从Animoca分拆

        Animoca Brands的位置在数码港,其中一名创办人是香港知名IT人萧逸,1998年他创办了云端服务公司Outblaze,2000年获李泽楷以2.5亿港元购入公司股权,2009年IBM收购其核心业务。2011年,他创立Animoca,专开发手机游戏,在美国、南韩、菲律宾设有办公室,团队达200人,年收入过亿美元。而今次在澳洲上市的Animoca Brands则是去年从Animoca分拆。

        Animoca Brands的手机游戏以授权的卡通人物作招徕,包括加菲猫、叮当及小飞侠,称公司的游戏已被下载逾1亿次。该公司的行政总裁Robby Yung表示,为可以在澳洲上市感到高兴,希望能在澳洲投资者圈推广自己的业务及行业。

        Robby Yung接受Tech In Asia访问时,表示选择上市原因是如果Animoca Brands继续是私人公司的话,便不能使用公司的股权获得流动资金,较有资源发展业务,而选择在澳洲上市的原因,是该处是中小企上市公司的理想地方,至于为何不在香港上市,他则表示除非是大公司或国企,否则可能会被忽略。
