9 CELEBRITIES RELATED TO CRYPTOCURRENCIES – part I


Cryptocurrencies are more and more popular, and well-known people also speak about it. What do celebrities think about cryptocurrencies?

 

1. Ashton Kutcher – American actor, most known from a sitcom “That ’70s Show”, investor

Ashton Kutcher is a big fan of Bitcoin – he talked a lot about it. Also he is the co-founder of A-Grade Investments who has a stake in Bitpay.
During last year’s U.S. election Kutcher said on Twitter:

 

 

Besides from speculations, Kutcher admits that Bitcoin is a revolution and there is huge potential for the technology behind the decentralized currency. He think that the same technology could be used for cybersecurity.

“The same infrastructure that built out bitcoin could be used in the security industry for mass good.”

 

2. Keanu Reeves – actor, most known from “The Matrix”

 

Keanu Reeves is known from being Bitcoin enthusiast. He think that recent global interest in bitcoin is more than just an investment opportunity, but possibly even more of a “revolution”. He says he believes that “Bitcoin is the future” and will “free citizens of the world from global and economic slavery.”
He assumed:

“For the first time in history, the people have a real chance at taking power back from the governments.”

 

3. Lily Allen – pop singer, actress

The funny story is connected with this singer – because she could have been a… Bitcoin Millionaire! Few years ago she missed out one really big opportunity – to give a concert for a big amount of Bitcoins. Unfortunately she didn’t agree. It’s even hard to imagine how she must regret it now…

4. Mel B – British singer, actress, former of Spice Girls

Mel B announced she will be the first artist to officially accept bitcoin payments for her new single. She said:

“I love how new technology makes our lives easier, and to me that’s exciting. Bitcoin unites my fans around the world using one currency. They can just pay using bitcoins!”

 

5. Snoop Dogg – rapper

Artist announced on Twitter that he want to sell his album for Bitcoin. First, it looked like joke but after Coinbase commented, he admit that he really want to make it happen. It’s a sign that cryptocurriences are going to the mainstream.

6. Mike Tyson – American boxer, heavyweight world boxing champion

Well-known professional boxer after finishing his career, he decided to take care of Bitcoin promotion. First, he announced that he was getting into Bitcoin with his very own branded ATM – his aim was to exchange your cash for Bitcoins below 20 seconds. After that, he created his own Bitcoin Wallet – available as ‘Mike Tyson Bitcoin’. Wallet is decorated in a dark style, with the characteristic Tyson tattoo. In addition to stylization, it is basically a typical network wallet with the possibility of buying and selling bitcoins.

 

7. Akon – American rapper and music producer

Akon, spoke out in favour of bitcoin at the Milken Global Conference on Apr 2014. He said:

“Bitcoin is going to change the world from a money transactional standpoint not just for Africa, but for everywhere”.

He has highlighted the scope of bitcoin as a global digital currency.

 

8. Pitbull – hip hop artist and entertainer

Pitbull talked about bitcoin investment with the news outlet CNBC. Pitbull says that he’s had his eye on the currency for about five years. Unfortunately he’s not invested in it at the moment, but he believes that: “it’s amazing what they are doing in the virtual world and we see that ‘reality’ is now becoming ‘virtual.’”

 

9. Jessica VerSteeg – American Model, and reality star

Jessica VerSteeg, launched ICO for a new cryptocurrency, ParagonCoin (PRG) to facilitate cannabis related transactions on the company’s blockchain platform.She said in a 2017 interview:

“We’re not just a cryptocurrency, we’re building an entire ecosystem around our token: coworking spaces that members will pay rent in PRG, labs that members will pay for lab fees with PRG, a decentralized and open-source cannabis product supply chain tracking system, and verification mechanisms. We’re aiming to create a lot of demand for our token and building mechanisms to decrease supply on increased demand.”

We’re glad that subject of blockchain and cryptocurrencies goes to the mainstream. Maybe the next step of the celebrities will be they own projects in Blockchain? If so, welcome!
